Player stats¶
Player stats is a card with the tabs “Stats”, “Style”, “Social” and “Achievements” that sums up one player's games on the server. Anyone on the server can open it, for their own stats or someone else's, in a channel for everyone or privately.
What player stats do¶
Player stats complement rating with details about a player's games. The card answers three questions:
- How much the player plays and wins. The “Stats” tab counts games, wins, win rate and streaks.
- Which nations they play and how they win. The “Style” tab shows the favorite and best nation and the win types.
- Who they play with. The “Social” tab names the frequent partner and the opponents against whom the player has the best and the worst score.
The card counts only games of the server where you opened it.
How to open the card¶
You can open the card in three ways, and each is available to anyone on the server.
/stats show |
«Show Stats» | “Player Stats” | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Where | Server channel | The player's apps menu | Game panel |
| Whose stats | Yours or the player in user |
The player whose menu you opened | The player you pick |
| Who sees the card | Everyone in the channel | Only you | Only you |
| Card language | Server language | Your Discord language | Your Discord language |
The /stats show command without options shows your stats. To see someone else's, name the player in the user option:
The “Show Stats” item is in the player's apps menu. On a computer, you open this menu by right-clicking the player's name. The item's name is in English in any Discord language.
The “Player Stats” button is on the game panel that a moderator sets up. After you press it, the bot privately shows a list of the server's members. Pick a player: the list disappears and the bot shows the card. The list waits for your choice for 3 min.
This works on the server the CivBot site works with. Next to “Show Stats” in the player's apps menu is the item “Profile on site”. The bot privately replies with the player's mention and a “🌐 Profile on site” button that leads to their page on the site; if you aren't signed in, the site asks you to sign in with Discord. The item doesn't open the stats card: it is a separate way to the player's games and rating, and the rating on the site is the same. See Player profile. On other servers, the bot replies “The site does not show this server's games.”, and for a player the site doesn't know yet — “This player has no games on the site yet.”
What it includes¶
The card has a header and the open tab. Below them are the tab buttons and the period list.
| Part | What it means |
|---|---|
| Title | An icon and a word in capitals, for example “🐺 PREDATOR”; depends on the games in the selected period |
| Rank and rating | A line like “Rank 3 (1231)”; for the “Season” period, it is the player's rank and rating in the current season |
| Server rank | The player's place by rating among the server's players in the current season, for example “#4 Server Rank”; the card shows it only for the “Season” period |
| Period | A line with the 📅 icon: the season name, “All time”, “Last 30 days” or “Last 7 days” |
| Avatar | The player's Discord avatar |
| Tab | “Stats”, “Style”, “Social” or “Achievements” |
A player who hasn't signed up for any game on the server this season has “Rank 2 (1000)” in the header for the “Season” period and no server rank.
Title¶
The title is at the top of the card. The bot checks the conditions from top to bottom and gives the first title that fits. Games and wins are counted for the selected period.
| Title | When the bot gives it |
|---|---|
| “👑 LEGEND” | The player is in one of the top five places by rating on the server; only for the “Season” period |
| “⚔️ VETERAN” | 200 finished games or more |
| “🌱 NEWBIE” | Fewer than 10 finished games |
| “🐺 PREDATOR” | More than 50% of wins are of the “Militaristic” type |
| “🦊 DIPLOMAT” | More than 30% of wins are of the “Diplomatic” type |
| “🧪 SCIENTIST” | More than 30% of wins are of the “Scientific” type |
| “🎭 ARTIST” | More than 20% of wins are of the “Touristic” type |
| “💀 SURVIVOR” | More than 50 games and a win rate below 30% |
| “🎲 ADVENTURER” | More than 100 games |
| “⚔️ PLAYER” | None of the conditions above fits |
Periods¶
The list under the tab buttons switches the period. At first, the card shows the “Season” period.
| Period | Caption in the header | Which games are counted |
|---|---|---|
| “Season” | Season name | Games that started since the beginning of the current season |
| “Global” | “All time” | All of the player's games on the server |
| “Month” | “Last 30 days” | Games that started in the last 30 days |
| “Week” | “Last 7 days” | Games that started in the last 7 days |
The card doesn't show past seasons: “Season” always means the current one.
Tabs¶
The card opens on the “Stats” tab. The button of the open tab is highlighted in color.
| Tab | Title | What it shows |
|---|---|---|
| “Stats” | “COMBAT STATS” | “Games”, “Wins”, “Win Rate”, “Current Streak” and “Best Streak” |
| “Style” | “YOUR STYLE” | “Favorite Nation”, “Best Nation” and “Win Types” |
| “Social” | “YOUR CONNECTIONS” | “Partner”, “Nemesis” and “Victim” |
| “Achievements” | “ACHIEVEMENTS” | The “Next Achievement” field: the achievement the player is closest to, and the progress toward it in percent |
Combat stats¶
The “Stats” tab counts the player's finished games for the selected period:
- “Games” — how many finished games the player has played;
- “Wins” — how many of them they won;
- “Win Rate” — the share of wins among these games;
- “Current Streak” — the streak from the last game: 🔥 and a number mean wins in a row, ❄️ and a number mean games without a win in a row;
- “Best Streak” — the longest streak of wins in a row.
Play style¶
The “Style” tab shows the player's nations and wins for the selected period:
- “Favorite Nation” — the nation the player played most often; next to it are the number of games with it and the win rate in those games;
- “Best Nation” — the nation with the highest win rate among those played in at least 3 games;
- “Win Types” — the share of each type among the player's wins.
Win types have icons: 🗡️ — “Militaristic”, 🧪 — “Scientific”, 🕊️ — “Diplomatic”, 🎨 — “Touristic”, 🤝 — “Winner recognition”. A type the player hasn't won with isn't in the list.
Connections with players¶
The “Social” tab names up to three people the player has played at least 5 finished games with:
- “Partner” — the one the player has played the most finished games with; next to it are the number of shared games and the player's win rate in them;
- “Nemesis” — the opponent against whom the player's share of wins is the lowest and below half;
- “Victim” — the opponent against whom the player's share of wins is the highest and above half.
For “Nemesis” and “Victim”, only games that one of the two won count, and there must be at least 5 such games. The score is written as the player's wins and the opponent's wins, separated by a colon. For example, “2:5” next to Kai means that in their shared games the player won twice and Kai won five times.
While there are no connections, the tab says “Play more games to see your connections!”
How it connects¶
- Rating — for the “Season” period, the rank and rating in the header come from the current season; see How rating is calculated.
- Ranks — the card writes the rank as a number next to the rating; see Ranks and stars.
- Seasons — the “Season” period covers only the current season; see Seasons.
- Leaderboard — shows the same rating but counts games differently; see Leaderboard.
- Player profile on the site — a site page with the player's games and rating; it opens from the player's menu in Discord; see Player profile.
- Game panel — it has the “Player Stats” button; see Game panel.
- Finishing a game — only a finished game gets into the stats; see Finishing a game.
Rules¶
Stats count finished games of all modes¶
FFA and Duel games finished with /game finish get into the card. Scrapped games and gatherings that never started aren't included in the stats. Every finished game the player didn't win counts as a loss. See Finishing a game.
The card and the leaderboard count games differently¶
The “Games” and “Wins” columns in the leaderboard count only FFA games that changed rating in the season. The card for the “Season” period counts all the season's finished games, Duel included, so “Games” on the card can be higher than “Games” in the leaderboard.
The server rank on the card can also differ from the place in the leaderboard. The card counts everyone who signed up for a game on the server this season, even those who have already left the server, and gives players with equal ratings the same position. The leaderboard shows only the top 15, numbers them consecutively and skips those who left the server or don't yet have finished FFA games in the season. See Leaderboard.
Anyone who sees the card can switch tabs and period¶
Everyone in the channel sees the card from /stats show, and any of them can switch the tab or period. Then the card changes for everyone. Only you see and switch a private card from “Show Stats” or from the game panel.
The card's buttons work for 3 min after opening or the last press¶
Each press of a tab button or choice of a period restarts the 3 min countdown. When the time is up, the bot disables the tab buttons and the period list: they turn gray. To keep browsing, open the card again.
What can go wrong¶
- The buttons and the period list on the card are gray. More than 3 min have passed since the card was opened or a button was last pressed. Open the card again.
- Someone else switched the tab on the card. Everyone who sees the card from
/stats showcan browse it. Open a private card through “Show Stats” or the “Player Stats” button on the game panel. - The card is in a different language than you expected. “Show Stats” and the button on the game panel show the card in your Discord language, and
/stats showshows it in the server's language. See Bot language. - The “Social” tab is empty. Instead of connections, the tab says “Play more games to see your connections!” In the selected period, the player has nobody they played 5 or more finished games with. Try the “Global” period: it covers all games.
- The “Style” tab has no “Best Nation” field. In the selected period, the player hasn't played any nation in 3 or more games. Try the “Global” period.
- The numbers don't match the leaderboard. The leaderboard counts only FFA games that changed rating and updates once an hour. See the section The card and the leaderboard count games differently.
